So I’m going to try to keep another blog now. I’ve moved everything I had before on Blogger.com to here on my website. I’ll definitely try to keep up with this. I’m planning on writing more than just acting stuff cause that just get’s boring after awhile. Plus, there’s not much to write about sometimes
New Blog
Full-Length Play
It’s been crazy the last few months with 2 new shows for hereandnow theatre company, traveling to colleges with hereandnow and then going up to San Francisco to do a film. So it’s been non-stop the past 3 months, but it’s good since I’m staying busy.
And now, I’m doing a full-length play. I’m only in the 2nd Act, but it’s still a great play…You’ll laugh, cry and want to jump on-stage to kick some ass…it’s the first full-length play I’ve done in 5+ years so come out and see it! It’ll be a great time! It’s also ONLY 1 Weekend!
Friday, DECEMBER 1 @ 8pm
Saturday, DECEMBER 2 @ 8pm
Sunday, DECEMBER 3 @ 7:30pm
This show is done specifically for the City of Pasadena for World AIDS Day. Tickets are $7 Pre-Sale and $10 at the Door. 50% of the proceeds go to The Andrew Escajeda Clinic. Don’t worry i don’t get the other 50%…I wish I was though cause the show’s drawing a lot of attention already (who knew that there are so many people in pasadena?).
You can Buy Tickets and find out more information on The Andrew Escajeda Clinic here:

Here’s a Description of the Play
————————–
The play centers on the friendship of three college
friends, Jonathan, his wife Jennifer, and their best
friend Michael who has just been dumped by his
boyfriend. Jonathan is staying with Michael in Los
Angeles while he auditions for his first “big”
breakthrough film, while Jennifer has come along for
support. But really she has come for her own reasons
concerning her sick daughter, her best friend Michael
and a secret the two are keeping from Jonathan.
Snakebit is a bitingly funny, heartbreaking, and
extremely relevant play about how HIV/AIDS impacts
people on an interpersonal level.
Mastercard Commercial
So I got a copy of the Mastercard Commercial and I’ve put it up online:
http://www.yoyao.com/files/mc.mov
I’m at the very beginning of the commercial.
Other than that, I’ve just been auditioning and working with my theatre company gearing up for a show in the middle of September. Hereandnow is the name of the theatre company, http://www.hereandnowtheatre.org.
Finally!!
Just booked a Mastercard Commercial! Finally! Been awhile since I’ve booked a commercial! Shoots beginning of June…I will update you guys and let you know when to look for it.
And then to top off that…I get home and there’s a check waiting for me from a Print job I did back in February…Good days like this definitely don’t come that often haha…
There’s been a lot going on lately, so there’s been little time to blog. Lots of auditions, gigs, writing and directing (first timer for the last two)…I will definitely try to update more!!
As for the Print job, it Major League Baseball 2K6 on Playstation 2. So look for it in magazines…
Backup…Backup…Backup…
My hard drive crashed last week. Of course I didn’t back anything up…even though I got an external hard drive about 6 months ago to do just that. So now I have lost years of documents that I created…the lost music files I really don’t care about, but the lost pictures i will definitely miss…the moral is: backup, backup, backup…
Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!!
Space
I space, you space, we all scream for myspace! ok, so that’s kinda lame, but the whole point is I now have a myspace profile…
www.myspace.com/yowme
“yow” will become a word like google where when you want to search for something, you say “let’s google ‘hippos.’” I haven’t exactly figured out what “yow” will be, but if it were something like “to cheer someone one up,” instead of saying all that…you can just say…”let’s ‘yow’ sally!” Or if you wanted to prank someone, you can say, “let’s ‘yow’ those annoying neighbors.”
So for now, “yow me” is what I have for myspace. “yow” will be the next “google!” ok…maybe not…
Man…it’s been a crazy couple weeks. Work’s been pretty crazy cause of deadlines, but it’s still all good cause I’m making money and paying the bills…Had some auditions too in the meantime for a couple commercials and a couple new tv shows coming soon. I WILL book soon though…
Auditioned for the CBS Asian-American Showcase today. It’s a showcase that the major networks (CBS, NBC, ABC) take turns putting on for the different minority groups including different ethnicities, disabilities, ageists, whatever can be considered a minority. It sucks that in order for minority to be considered, they have to do these showcases, but until things change, I guess this is a good way for networks to see who’s out there (like me). Went in there and did my thing so we’ll see what comes of it…
Did my taxes on the 14th too…yeah yeah yeah, I cut it a little close, but actually realized something, if I don’t owe anything and I’m actually owed, the gov’t says I don’t have to file by the 15th cause they owe me money. I just thought that it’s really funny you don’t have to file if the gov’t owes you money and if you owe them money and don’t file, you’re screwed…
I hate the whole street parking here too in LA. $40 ticket if you happen to park from 9am-12pm on the street on Wed. and Thurs. because of street sweeping. I forgot today and go outside at 9:05am and there’s a bright yellow envelope for me there…yep, $40 ticket…what time did I get it at you ask? 9:01am. Last week, I saw a parking gal in her jeep waiting on the side of the street at 8:50am talking on her phone and rocking along with the radio just waiting for 9am! I see parking guys/meter maids all over LA parked on streets and just chatting away, I’m assuming to their fellow colleagues about how many tickets they’ve given out in 2 hours…
So now that I’ve got a little time, I’ll update a little…Started a new part-time job while still trying to get more acting gigs. It’s not too bad and I’m earning a little more money and it’s flexible too so that’s always good. Haven’t done any SAT teaching since March. I was just at a point where I was teaching a lot and doing all that prep work for my classes and private students was getting to be too much work. It also was a little less flexible because I kind of couldn’t get away unless I found a sub for my classes. Plus, I was teaching all day on weekends and so I couldn’t really get in a round of 18 on the golf course. As the saying goes, “A bad day at the golf course is better than a good day in the office.”
Moved to a new apartment about 2 weeks ago as well. Definitely a nicer area too. I can actually walk around here and I’ve got about everything I need within walking distance. Not too often you live in an area (reasonably affordable area that is) and be able to do your errands by walking.
As for acting…I’ve gone out on some auditions since I’ve last posted…about 2-3 a week. Too lazy to list them all out (if you were wondering if I was going to list them out). But same stuff as usual: indies, theater, co-starring roles for pilots, etc…
One nice booking though, I did a short film by Ted Chung, who is in UCLA’s Graduate Directing Program. He got a grant to do this short and it’ll show at the VC Film Fest May 3rd. It was a good cast and great crew. The cast included this great 10 year old girl who was the lead. She was alotta fun on set as most kids are (as long as their not yours of course). But it also includued Parry Shen, from “Better Luck Tomorrow.” He was a cool guy and has been a dad for about a week now, so congrats to him as well. I just found out thatmy buddy in Iraq is going to have a baby (not actually him – just in case some of you were wondering how HE could have one) in a few months too. He’ll be coming back to the US for a couple weeks so I’ll see him for a day or two when I go back to Atlanta to visit cause he’s going around to weddings and such while he’s back. Plus, my Sis is graduating from NYU too so I can’t miss that either. My buddy will be back for good in November so I’ll see him then too, but my sis only graduates once (maybe more of course if she does grad school).
I think that’s enough for now
